Job Summary:

SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Fine Arts Events Manager. The Fine Arts Series provides a cultural benefit for students, their families, the university community, and residents of Brockport and the Rochester region. With its globally influenced and socially diverse tapestry of dance, music, theatre, and visual arts, the Fine Arts Series endeavors to present events of the utmost quality that are both entertaining and challenging, utilizing a mix of both student and professional artists at an affordable price.
The person in this role will serve as the presenter for the music concerts and supports academic departments in their public performances of dance and theatre, and visual arts exhibitions by promoting them through box office operations, public relations, and marketing initiatives. They will serve as a public face of the University to the general population, and local business partners, through its solicitation of program advertising and the coordination of series subscriptions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree by time of appointment, from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
  • A high level of competency with computers and related technology (Word, Excel, InDesign, Photoshop, ticketing software platforms, BOCA ticket printers).
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to work intentionally and collaboratively with community partners, faculty, staff and students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in arts management with demonstrated expertise in performing arts events oversight in higher education and experience in one or more: outreach, marketing, budget, or patron cultivation.
  • Record of successful grantsmanship.
  • Experience with visual arts and media helpful. Comfort with math/numbers and advertising sales.

Salary and Benefits:

The Minimum Salary for this position is $70,958.
