Function of Position:
The Part-time Program Recruitment Assistant will report to the Program Director (PD). The part-time Recruitment Assistant will assist the program director with the coordination of the recruitment of participants and orientation activities of the Upward Bound Classic and Math and Science Programs at Monroe Community College (UB @ MCC). The Recruitment Assistant will be responsible for recruitment, providing personal assistance with the completion of the application process, and implementing career, academic advising and counseling to admitted program students at the Rochester City School District (RCSD) target schools.
*This is a temporary, grant funded position.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate the recruitment and orientation component of the program
Recruit eligible students at target schoolsCollect, maintain and collate all materials related to the recruitment processMaintain a caseload of newly recruited studentsProvide assistance for potential participants with the completion of the applicationAssist the PD with the interview and documentation process of potential participantsProvide recruitment related personal, career, and academic advising and counseling to students and their parentsInitiate and maintain relationships with RCSD target schools, counselors and staffFrequent traveling and moving between RCSD target schools and Downtown campusMCC Expectations:

Required Qualifications:
Earned bachelor's degree in education, social work or related field from a regionally accredited higher education institutionOne year teaching, advising or counseling in a related fieldExperience working with students from low-income, first-generation, diverse ethnic or urban disadvantage backgroundsPreferred Qualifications:
Experience coordinating activities and event programming for high school age studentsSuccess in overcoming the academic and economic challenges, faced by students in the UB@ MCC ProgramsUB@MCC AlumBilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Salary: This position has an hourly rate of $25
Job Type: Part-time, 20 hours/week
