Job Title: Life and Career Development Coach
Department: Academic Affairs
Location: Rochester General College of Health Careers
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5:30pm or 10am - 6:30pm; flexibility required


SUMMARY

Partners with RRH employees to address issues they self-identify that are inhibiting them from success on the job and in their personal lives. Using a case management model, the Life Coach will continue meeting with individuals in-person and virtually to help them navigate these issues until both parties are satisfied that the identified issues have been successfully addressed with a goal of reducing turnover and increasing retention.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborates closely with the team member and manager to ensure the success of employees through, but not limited to counseling, coaching, Employee Assistance Program, community outreach, and resource navigation. Act as a liaison between team member and RRH.
  • Regularly interacts with team member to assist with time-management, personal needs and the development of life skills training.
  • Ensure necessary tracking including but not limited to: referrals, team member compliance and team member engagement, learning opportunities, and accomplishments.
  • Evaluate situations, solve problems, resolve conflicts, provide intervention as well as make referral to appropriate internal programs and community agencies.
  • Provides individual or group training in a wide variety of topics that provide team members with the social, life, academic and employment skills that enable success.
  • Is knowledgeable in employee assistance programs and relationships within RRH and potential community programs outside of RRH.
  • Partners closely with benefits and the community to maximize the financial and social benefits available to the team member.
  • Manages budget for support items.
  • Provide resource support to team members related to parenting skills, family planning, daycare/eldercare arrangements, and special programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, HealthCare, Psychology or other applicable field
  • Professional Life Coach Certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in providing counseling, group interventions and supportive mental health services.
  • Training in life crisis intervention strategies.
  • Mental Health Certification.
  • Passion for supporting employees’ career growth.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, attention to detail.
  • Comfortable adapting to change in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to think critically, strategically, and innovatively.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skill.
  • Ability to communicate with clients in an organized and knowledgeable manner.
  • Exude professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Collaborative and inclusive of all backgrounds and opinions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • One-year experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PAY RANGE: $60,500.00 - $75,000.00
