SUMMARY

The Senior Development Officer (SDO) is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major and principal gift prospects and donors to Rochester Regional Health with a focus on corporate giving. The Senior Development Officer will effectively manage a major gift pipeline in support of Rochester Regional Health’s hospitals, clinical departments, community programs and service lines. Ideally, the SDO will raise in excess of $1M annually from corporate and individual donors. Additionally, the Senior Development Officer may oversee Development Associates and Development Officers in achieving the goals of the Foundation—and provide appropriate coaching for growth and development. Additionally, the SDO will develop partnerships with foundation colleagues, clinicians, volunteers, and others in support of relationships with prospective donors that lead to gifts.

SCHEDULE: Weekdays, flexibility required

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Corporate Fundraising. Manage a portfolio of corporate prospects and major donors.
  • Project Management. Cultivate, solicit and steward gifts from individuals through wills and trusts; design and implement strategy for blended and complex gifts; assist with outright gifts that require financial and estate planning; manage the Hansford Society (the existing planned giving society for RRH), to expand membership and create stewardship opportunities for planned giving donors.
  • Communication & Outreach. Manage a portfolio of approximately 125 planned giving prospects with the expectation of 12-15 face to face visits each month, working towards closing 10 major gifts annually; develop and plan marketing strategies/activities that promote the planned giving program, convey the tax advantages of deferred giving and describe the benefits of financial and estate planning.

ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor's degree required. Equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • 5-10 years of successful professional experience in fundraising, sales.
  • Must be available to support Foundation events that occasionally occur on weeknights and weekends.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PAY RANGE: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00
