Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This role serves as an Information Technology expert for Neuromedicine IT, in support of our customers in Neurology and Neurosurgery. Provides high level hardware and application support, consultation, analysis, troubleshooting, design, training and operational support to all our customers. Acts as an escalation point between the Departments and (U of R) ITS/ISD Teams. Maintains expertise in current desktop and network technologies, as well as a wide range of systems, servers, applications and customized needs in support of all IT related functions. Provides hands-on support for our clients with an emphasis on excellent customer service. Leads applications and hardware project management during upgrades, relocations and deployment of new technology solutions. Researches and develops solutions for new IT related endeavors and provides reasonable options for betterment with existing technology. The incumbent will report to the Director of Neuromedicine IT and act as a mentor and knowledge resource to other NeuroIT Staff and the customers we support.RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Advanced level Information Technology support services covering the full range of computing hardware, peripherals, printers, smartphones and applications in our daily NeuroIT operations. Including on-call rotational coverage for after-hours urgent customer requests
- Provides multi-system cross training to those in NeuroIT using a 1:1 real time approach to disseminate knowledge and help others grow by developing the correct methods used in our daily work processes and policies
- Demonstrates high level Project Management abilities by handling several projects/tasks at once and balancing priorities in a dynamic fast passed environment including the SEC and NMD systems backup support services.
- Thorough knowledge of MS-Windows, UNIX, and Apple IOS, OSX Hardware, Devices and Peripherals with the ability to provide pre-purchase consulting, troubleshooting and deployment within clinical and research environments.
- Demonstrates University best practices with information technology security and compliance requirements. Keeping a mindful eye on upcoming IT related deployments along with maintaining the security of our existing IT Infrastructure.
- Support of the Neuromedicine IT Real Time Tracker System, Digital Signage updates and Departmental Meetings – Grand Rounds and Visiting Professor A/V Support Services.
- Other duties as assigned related to departmental IT support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
- 3-4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Computer programming, database development and management, project management, excellent customer service and flexibility.
- Information Technology Related Certifications
