Summary:
Under the supervision of the Health & Nutrition Coordinator, the Food Service Manager/Cook will be responsible for all the food services duties of the Childhood department and "Centro de Oro" (senior center).

- Reports to the Health & Nutrition Coordinator.
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with agency staff, staff from related business and agencies.
- Plans menus for the "Centro de Oro" and the Early Childhood Center.
- Plans and posts weekly menus following standards specified by the CACFP.
- Orders supplies and maintains inventory.
- Makes direct purchases of food and supplies as needed.
- Receives and accounts for goods needed to prepare meals.
- Plans for prepares and serves lunch following Department of Health guidelines.
- Maintain daily production records for both programs.
- Ensures seniors are served appropriate portions in accordance with DOH and office for the Aging guidelines and children (CACFP).
- Ensures children are served appropriate portions in accordance with D.O.H. and CACFP guidelines.
- Prepares foods ensuring children's special dietary needs are met.
- Takes safety precautions to prevent accidents, fire, and food poisoning.
- Completes all work in a timely manner.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings, staff and other center events as assigned.
- Maintains confidentially.
- Continues to develop professionally.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Authority:

Skills and Abilities:
- Management experience.
- College Degree, High School diploma or equivalent.
- Food Service experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Experience cooking in large volume.
- Must know how to cook Hispanic Food.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions in both languages.
- Food Services Certification.
- Must have clearance through NYS Central Registry, good health, clean police record.
Physical Demands:
The position does require occasional standing, squatting, lifting of up to approximately 40 lbs. And frequent sitting.
