Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
This role will support the ongoing development and optimization of data infrastructure used for reporting and analysis. The project assistant collaborates with our data science team to set up data pipelines, conduct exploratory analysis, and assist in model training and evaluation. Through applying skills in statistics, programming, and machine learning, the project assistant contributes to improving reporting efficiency and accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Data Pipelining: Contributes to ODIR analytical database by supporting the development of DBT models which clean and transform data into a suitable format for analysis and modeling.
- Exploratory Data Analysis: Conducts thorough exploratory analysis to understand data patterns, identify relevant features, and generate insights to inform model development.
- Feature Engineering: Collaborates with the team to create, select, and transform appropriate features to improve model performance.
- Model Training and Evaluation: Participates in training and evaluating machine learning models, utilizing techniques such as cross-validation, hyperparameter tuning, and metric tracking.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintains clear documentation of data processing steps, modeling approaches, and results. Contributes to the preparation of reports and presentations.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required;
- Currently matriculated in an undergraduate studies program in data science, computer science, business administration, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field required.
- Currently matriculated in a graduate studies program such as data science or analytics preferred.
- 6 months of work experience required;
- or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain confidentiality required.
- Ability to present information effectively, both in writing and verbally, and communicate clearly and efficiently with individuals at various levels of the organization required.
- Must be able to convey information to others succinctly, professionally, and in a way that is easily understood required.
- Strong attention to detail, planning, organizational and critical thinking skills required.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $17.00 - $22.10 Hourly
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
