Description

The Manufacturing Engineer reports to and works closely with the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to maximize productivity and quality and to develop and improve engineering processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Primary:

  • Develops and maintains intelligent router, materials classification, PRT resources and connectivity
  • Lead continuous improvement projects. Projects may be self-directed or assigned by the supervision team to align with SD goals.
  • Determines inner operations processing including but not limited to material handling methods and processes.
  • Evaluates and solves production problems relative to process, equipment, and workflow.
  • Maintain and develop SAP smart routers for all chosen product families. Propose and implement improvement ideas to further integrate SAP classification systems upfront and downstream to better automate the value stream from engineering through programming. Expand smart router concepts to encompass bills-of-material also.

Secondary:

  • Develops departmental performance measurement systems to enable Ops Management and Supervision to measure success against department, business unit, and corporate goals.
  • Liaison to Quality Manager to manage quality assurance within cell.
  • Owners of process, sequence, equipment selection, materials and materials selection to manufacture production. Develops and maintains work instructions as necessary.
  • Remain knowledgeable of key technical and software developments and innovations within the industry and relate improvement ideas to the team.
  • Liaison to NPD team to support activities relating to reengineering projects (process automation or Manufacturing Execution systems)

Shared:

  • Determines and maintains product cell structure and Capital investment.
  • Determines facilities plan, cell integration, and physical arrangements.
  • Assure any issues/problems/concerns/changes/are raised for discussion/help.
  • Participate in design reviews as needed.
  • Attend meetings as needed to support the above other teams.

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university (Mechanical Engineering, or related)

and 3 to 5 year(s) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
