POSITION SUMMARY:
The Training Specialist is responsible for training all plant new hires, and retraining existing plant employees, on all aspects of their job, as well as LiDestri expectations and safety policies. Fully supports and drives quality operations on the production floor and communicates effectively with production team members, multiple levels of management, and other customer support departments.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Facilitate on-the-job and classroom training to a wide spectrum of diverse adult learners using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, using adult learning principles to maximize knowledge transfer and retention of “best practice standards”
- Create a positive, engaging learning experience that holds our organization to high performance and safety standards and reinforces LiDestri's core values
- Assess learner performance using 30/60/90-day proficiency checklists and deliver feedback (and re-training as needed) to team members about their performance in a positive manner that reinforces and supports LiDestri’s mission
- Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities and program effectiveness
- Recommend solutions to identify and close employees’ performance gaps
- Collaborate with Instructional Design team with respect to content development and review
- Support new procedural updates, ensuring training can be implemented and delivered in a timely manner
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 3+ years’ experience in facilitating training to a diverse group of adult learners
- Able to deliver training using clear verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional ability to develop relationships across the organization, develop and improve processes, and communicate effectively with employees, colleagues, and plant leadership
- Excellent organization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to make decisions, self-motivated and works minimal supervision; interacts professionally with all levels at the organization
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:
- Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors
- Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions
- Lifting/carrying <50 pounds
- Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
