Foreign Language Teacher Long Term Substitute
Job Summary
- McQuaid Jesuit, a Catholic, college preparatory school in Rochester, NY, teaching boys grades 6-12, is a qualified and enthusiastic Long-Term Substitute Spanish Teacher to join our Foreign Languages Department. This temporary position will begin in late September and continue through the end of January. McQuaid Jesuit is an independent Catholic, Jesuit school dedicated to forming young men as leaders and men for others through a rigorous educational experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful candidate will teach Spanish courses at the middle school and high school levels
- Create a positive and engaging classroom environment and support students' language acquisition and cultural understanding.
- Responsibilities include lesson planning, instruction, assessment, classroom management, and collaboration with department colleagues.
Additional Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree Spanish, education or related field.
- Prior teaching experience and New York State certification (or eligibility for certification) are preferred

Work Environment: Fast-paced school environment working in a school and/or office setting.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: Temporary full-time exempt, position tentatively scheduled Sept 2026 through Dec 2026 (there are school holidays during this time period that would be unpaid time off), Typical hours of 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Salary range: $175 to $200 per diem.
