Position: Product Manager

Reporting to: Chief Digital Officer

Summary:

The Product Manager develops and oversees the product management lifecycle with the goals of maximizing customer outcomes and company growth. The focus is driving new product development across physical products, services and digital solutions. The Product Manager works with marketing, sales, digital, engineering, operations, customer service, finance to optimize products for customer value.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand and display the company values
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive rapid growth
  • Research market needs and competition to understand positioning of current products, market gaps and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Establish product vision and product strategy
  • Implement a Product Development methodology that emphasizes speed and differentiated solutions for customers
  • Organize product families, product lines and product features
  • Participate in customer calls and site visits to articulate product vision and robust product development process
  • Participate in customer, industry subject matter expert (SME) and executive ideation sessions and document results according to the product management methodology
  • Implement a rapid prototyping process to support ‘skunk works’ projects
  • Develop and maintain inventory and assessment of current products
  • Develop and maintain short term and long term product roadmaps for product development teams (engineering, services, digital)
  • Breakdown complex requirements into strategies, components, tasks, and plans
  • Collaborate with peer leadership through the full product development lifecycle
  • Lead team through ‘customer journey’ and other design techniques to generate new product and feature ideas
  • Lead or participate in design reviews and thoroughly assess the ability of proposed designs to meet specified requirements
  • Elevate company differentiation in design and user experience
  • Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and product failure / issue reviews to improve current and future products
  • Work with sales, marketing and finance on product pricing
  • Define product marketing objectives
  • Drive product launches in coordination with marketing, sales, product development and other teams
  • Develop product stage gates and business case process
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Computing Science, Information Systems or a related field
  • Proven track record in product development
  • Prefer product background related to engineering, packaging, SaaS, analytics or logistics
  • Logistics and / or Biopharmaceutical industry experience a plus
  • Experience coordinating internal and external teams
  • Experience managing multiple projects with success
  • Experience presenting to customers
  • Expert at managing timely delivery of multiple projects with an extensive track record of success
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to independently lead projects including development of project plans, identification of relevant milestones, prioritization, assignment and tracking of deliverables
      • Excellent communication, time management and organizational skill with strong attention to detail.
