Job Summary:
Ametek Power Instruments is seeking a Field Application Engineer for the Revenue Metering and Fault Recorder product lines.
The Field Application Engineer will assist customers and the sales channel with the selection of products and services through their technical expertise of the revenue metering and fault recording products. This includes supporting the sales channel through the entire sales cycle with customer presentations, specification review, product demonstrations, training, and customer evaluation assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the Revenue Metering and Fault Recording Product Lines and their use in the electric utility industry
- Provide pre and post sales technical support to customers and our sales channel
- Review customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and services
- Customize and deliver technical presentations based on the customer needs
- Demonstrate the product features, capabilities, and benefits to the customer
- Provide technical training to customers and our sales channel
- Assist customers with product evaluations
- Work closely with the Regional Sales Managers and Product Managers on market expansion/new customer acquisition initiatives
- Support the inside sales team in the quoting process
- Provide Product Managers and Engineering with voice of customer feedback
- Assist the product managers in the creation of training material for customers and the sales channel
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSEE (or other relevant technical degree, Electrical degree preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of similar technical experience (Electric Utility, electronic monitoring equipment preferred)
- An understanding of 3 phase power
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
- Experience with all Microsoft Office tools
- A demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed and independent manner, prioritizing work appropriately
- Organized and detail oriented
