Work Schedule: 6:00am - 6:00pm


  • Assist Production Supervisor in carrying out the day-to-day operation and guidance of production personnel involved in manufacturing of product for the facility.
  • Help maintain general control to ensure compliance with domestic FDA/GMP and all international regulatory requirements.
  • Assist Supervisor in ensuring compliance is maintained in the area concerning environmental, health and safety practices.
  • Train, facilitate and oversee manufacturing associates to accomplish established work objectives.


  • Assist Supervisor in managing the daily production schedule for manufactured products to ensure that products are produced according to prescribed schedule and established quality standards.
  • Understand and execute daily staffing plan to ensure department quality and quantity objectives are achieved. Arrange overtime as required according to overtime policy.
  • Provide technical leadership to employees in work. Instruct and train associates in proper setup, operation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting operations; ensuring associate compliance to SOP and procedure changes; ensure assigned end of shift activities are performed.
  • Assist in the conduct and updating on an ongoing basis the training of personnel, as well as the testing of new processes and procedures, to ensure that both production personnel and process conform with GMP’s and all regulatory and safety requirements.
  • Inform shift Team Leader of any non-compliant condition.
  • Provide daily reports on total production efficiency and quality variances to ensure that the products are produced according to the prescribed schedule and established quality standards. As needed, assign resources to collect, enter, and report production numbers.
  • Independently identify, diagnose, correct, and document process trends and problems. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance as needed, in cooperation with Plant Maintenance and other shifts. Enlist technical support if needed. Verify all preventive maintenance logs are updated and that all areas have the required equipment to perform their tasks. Report unusual conditions and problems to shift Team Leader.
  • Perform in-process inspections, coordinate validations and implementation of new equipment. As needed, ensure validation requirements are known and understood by MAs. Ensure proper hand-off of validation requirements between shifts, monitor validation progress during shift and ensure personnel are processing the validations per procedure.
  • Perform various manufacturing operations jobs in addition to team guidance to maintain production throughput.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, Support, encourage and participate in team related activities; report ideas or suggestions to Team Leader.
  • As needed, accountable for nonconformance initiations, root cause investigations, and corrective action closeout.
  • Other Duties and responsibilities include: knowing and observing B+L work /safety rules, policies and SOPs; protecting B+L assets and treating fellow employees with dignity and respect.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates degree or certifications in related technical field or relevant experience preferred.
  • 2-5 years related experience in Medical Device Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous leadership experienced preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of cGMPs and ISO standards.
  • PLC troubleshooting skills, mold machine experience – electric and hydraulic helpful.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computers and software.
  • Strong trouble shooting skills.
  • Good verbal/written skills.

As required by New York State's pay transparency bill, Bausch + Lomb provides a good faith minimum and maximum salary range of compensation for roles that can or will be performed, in New York State. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For New York State, the range of starting hourly rate for this role is $22.00 - 26.71 per hour.
