Function of Position:
Tenure-track faculty teach classes, develop new educational materials, assist with curriculum review and assessment, perform professional duties, and participate in departmental and institutional functions, including department meetings and committee work. Tenure-track faculty report to the chairperson of the Nursing Department. Academic departments are led by a peer who serves as a department chair for a three-year term. All tenure-track faculty are in the pool from which the chair is appointed. Faculty are responsible for preparing and teaching courses in the department and will be assigned to the Brighton Campus. Tenure-track faculty may be expected to teach at another campus, extension site, or in an online, remote, and/or hybrid modality.

Demonstrates and maintains current subject area knowledgeTeaches courses and evaluates student performance as per guidelines set by the department and Monroe Community CollegeTeaches multiple courses/sections each term, as outlined by the contractPrepares lesson plans and creates instructional materials and activities for student engagementPrepares Course Information Sheet/Syllabus/Outlines in accordance with department and College guidelinesEstablishes and maintains an engaging and supportive classroom environmentMaintains student attendance records, grades, and other records according to department and College guidelines and submits them in a timely mannerMaintains office hours according to contractual guidelines in order to support student learningAdvises students concerning academic, career, and related issues according to contractual guidelinesAssists the department with student recruitment, enrollment, and placementAssists the department with student retention and completion initiativesAssists with development, review, and revision of department curriculum, including assessment of student learning and program reviewDevelops innovative teaching pedagogies to facilitate learningIncorporates high-impact teaching practices into course designAttends department meetings as a contributing memberContributes to the College through Division, department, and College committeesActively engages in pedagogical and academic discipline professional developmentAssists the department in faculty recruitment and peer evaluationAssists in the development of grant proposals and implementation of grant projectsWorks independently and in a team setting, demonstrating excellent time management skills to prioritize workflow and multitaskSelects clinical assignments for studentsMaintains a collegial relationship with clinical staff and meets all requirements of the clinical facilityMaintains currency in nursing practice and education pedagogyPerforms other duties and responsibilities assigned by the department chair and may be assigned courses at any MCC campus or extension site locationMCC Expectations:

Required Qualifications:
Earned a master's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited higher education institutionEarned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited higher education institution and are enrolled and actively pursuing a Master's degree or higher in Nursing from a regionally accredited higher education institutionAbility to teach courses within the departmentCommitment to supporting an inclusive campus environmentEvidence of respect for and understanding of people with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needsEvidence of commitment to the philosophy of a comprehensive community collegeEvidence of proficiency with technologyCommitment to continued professional growthEvidence of effective communication (interpersonal, speaking, and writing) skillsExperience and/or interest in developing and teaching online coursesCurrent unencumbered New York State licensure as a Registered Professional NurseTwo years of recent clinical experience in Maternal-Neonatal nursingPreferred Qualifications:

Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity, and college budget. This position has a range of $60,060 to $73,920 and is based on the mentioned factors.
MCC offers a Flexible Work Policy for benefit-eligible employees. Types of flexible work arrangements include flextime/staggered shifts, remote work/telecommuting, and compressed work schedules.
