Leads development, improvement, and commercialization of new and existing formulas for LiDestri brands and its customers


  • Build and maintain a network of relevant internal and external relations, including stakeholders, partners, customers and suppliers
  • Lead own R&D projects with minimal support from manager, to include onboarding new materials, specification creation, testing protocol and manufacturing procedures
  • Proficient or expert in multiple manufacturing technologies and QA equipment
  • Independently design, test, and implement innovative and technologically feasible processes in production environments;
  • Proficient in the operation of pilot equipment, including all equipment/machinery in the pilot room used to trial formulas to ensure they are ready for commercialization
  • Create areas of improvement and efficiencies in the pilot and lab
  • Scale up and implement new products and/or applications in operational environment according to applicable guidelines
  • Independently lead investigations on quality and manufacturing issues
  • Support QA and operations in implementing new and/or updated recipes and processes
  • Write QA and manufacturing procedures, with the ability to make corrections as needed
  • Form Batch Cards and enter into Recipe Editor or equivalent
  • Work flexible schedule and attend trials with travel possible to remote sites and training
  • Assess, improve, and refine existing products and applications
  • Prepare sample requests and prepare for shipment with accuracy
  • Search and utilize current business systems including Oracle and M-Files
  • Maintain raw material and finished product inventories
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Processing, and/or minimum of 5-7 years R&D experience in related industry
  • High level of accuracy and detail
  • Ability to operate lab and pilot equipment
  • Apply basic Microsoft programs, communication skills, math functions, root cause analysis, and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment. (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses, and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots


  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environment
  • Frequent exposure to extreme loud noises
  • Frequent lifting/carrying <50 pounds, reaching and use of fingers
  • Occasional work in high places and near moving mechanical parts for long periods of time
  • Frequent reaching /pulling/bending/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
  • Occasional lifting >50 pounds
  • Potential exposure to caustic chemicals
