Middle School Campus Minister
Job Summary
- McQuaid Jesuit, a Catholic school in Rochester, NY, teaching boys’ grades 6-12, is seeking a Middle School Campus Minister. The Middle School Campus Minister has a key role in ensuring that McQuaid Jesuit is faithful to its mission as a Jesuit School, an apostolate of the United States East Province of the Society of Jesus. The Middle School Campus Minister is a member of the McQuaid Jesuit Mission and Ministry Department.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinates retreat experiences for all grades of the Middle School
- Coordinates Service projects that are age appropriate to Middle School
- Coordinates McQuaid Jesuit’s participation in the Great Ignatian Challenge, an annual holiday food drive competition between Jesuit schools across the East Coast Province
- Coordinates the Companions Program OCIC (Order of Christian Initiation for Children) (potential MS course for ’26-’27 academic year) * 2025-2026 Academic Year OCIC will be coordinated through the Director of Worship and Retreats
- Revision and coordination of the 7th Grade Conversations
- Teaches two classes as needed by the MS Principal
Responsibilities appropriate to Core Functions
- Coordinates and schedules class retreat dates, works with Middle School Theology teachers to develop themes and organize the retreat days
- Envisions and coordinates weekly service projects/opportunities as well as grade level service projects
- Communicates retreat information to McQ teachers, staff, and parents
- Works with Mission and Ministry Administrative Assistant to monitor Middle School service hours submissions on MobileServe
- Ensures reflection for post-service experiences
- Collaborate with the entire Mission & Ministry team
- Open to other job responsibilities as needed by the Director of Mission and Ministry
- Create and manage budget
Additional Responsibilities
- Other duties as assigned.
- ? time Campus Ministry (will teach two classes as needed by the Middle School Principal)

- Understands the psychology and developmental abilities of Middle School aged boys
- Excellent communication skills
- Can work cooperatively as part of a team
- Understands the needs of a multi-cultural and multi-religious school community
- Is willing to minister beyond the normal school day and week when needed
- Maintains an open, encouraging, compassionate personality
Education and Experience Requirements
- Preferred degree in Theology or equivalent
- 1-3 years of pastoral/ministerial or theology teaching experience
- Formed in Ignatian Spirituality and Jesuit Education

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a 10-month, full-time position. (40 hours per week – exempt level position). Salary range $60,000 to $63,000.
