POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of this role is to proficiently operate the machinery and operations within the club pack area or spice rooms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Club Pack Area
    1. Perform all shipping & receiving functions for all work areas, setting up lines correctly;
    2. Ensure labels stickers & shrink wrap is applied properly;
    3. Ensure packaging meets customer specifications, all work performed is FIFP (first in, first out) and no lots are mixed;
    4. Verify product type is available, delivered, and ready for work;
    5. Follow all requirements needed for rework, club pack and MODs;
  • Spice Room Area
    1. Prepare spice mixes in accordance with the batch cards and standard, sanitary procedures;
      • Cannot be allergic to fine ingredients and dust particles;
      • Mixing cheese and various spices to accurate proportions;
    2. Inspect raw materials prior to use
  • Observe operations to detect product (raw or finished) defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines as necessary;
  • Maintain GMP (good housekeeping) standards at and around machinery;
  • Perform SOP’s for machinery in assigned area;
  • Work in a safe manner, consistent with company safety rules and regulations;
  • Maintain good attendance record per company policy;
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather, skid resistant work shoes/boots;
  • Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills, math functions and reasoning;
  • Ability to use various hand tools (knife, water house, band cutters, can opener and scales);
  • Previous experience operating a forklift (for applicable work areas);
  • Lock out/tag out certified;
  • Possess a continuous improvement and team orientated mind set.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Constant exposure to extreme loud noises;
  • Constant work in high places and near moving mechanical parts;
  • Constant standing and moving by foot;
  • Constant exposure to extreme hot/cold (non-weather) environment;
  • Frequent lifting/carrying <50 pounds, reaching and use of fingers;
  • Frequent use of hot/cold water hoses;
  • Frequent reaching/pulling/bending/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending;
  • Occasional lifting >50 pounds;
  • Potential exposure to caustic chemical.


WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to:

  • Long periods of standing/moving, working around moving mechanical parts/conveyors
  • Loud environment, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions
  • Lifting/carrying <50 pounds
  • Frequent reaching/pulling/climbing stairs/stooping/kneeling/bending
