SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care in the unit.
The Operating Room (OR) at Rochester General Hospital offers elective and emergency surgeries for adults and pediatric patients, including a variety of service-specific specialties. Types of Surgical procedures and teams performed include: General Surgery, Urology, Bariatric, Ambulatory, Robotic Surgery, Gynecological, Neurology, Vascular, Orthopedic, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Plastic Reconstructive, Cosmetic Surgery, Oral Surgery, Podiatric Surgery, and Cardiothoracic Surgery.

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital (RGH)
DEPARTMENT: Operating Room (OR)
SCHEDULE: 7 am - 3:30 pm; plus on-call requirement that includes nights and weekends.
Sign-On: Up to $15,000
DESIRED ATTRIBUTES:
- Associate Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience as a registered nurse.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family
- Planning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment, and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintain an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provide an exceptional experience for the patient and family
- Evaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate, and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities
- Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume the role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters
EDUCATION:
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PAY RANGE: $38.22 - $50.96
