Job Purpose:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is primarily responsible for the coordination of medical services for persons supported in our residential or DayHab settings. The RN is also responsible for training current and new-hire staff to ensure the health and safety of persons supported.

Salary: $68,000 - $72,000

Essential Functions:

  • Maintain the health and well-being of the persons supported at EPI.
  • Maintain all medical records for all assigned locations; act as a liaison to pharmacy, physician and provider offices; complete semiannual and annual nursing assessments, annual plans of nursing service.
  • Provide medical oversight by visiting persons supported/sites as assigned.
  • Promote workplace safety; provide supervision to Medical Liaisons.
  • Train and complete medication observations for (re)certification of unlicensed personnel.

 

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Participate on various committees as able.

 

Compliance:

  • Maintain the following required certifications & learnings within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter;
      • CPR-First Aid
      • SCIP-R (Strategies for Crisis intervention & Prevention Revised)
      • AMAP (Approved Medication Assistive Personnel).
      • OPWDD, REGULATORY & EPI learnings 
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters
  • Adhere to all company/departmental policies & procedures.

Education and Experience:

Current NYS Registered Nurse License

Experience with brain injury and/or developmental disability preferred.

 

Computer Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to navigate electronic documentation program (i.e. Medisked, Evero).
  • Ability to use online systems to input work hours using electronic timekeeping system and complete online training.

 

Qualifications:

  • Maintain a valid New York State driver’s license. You will be required to drive company vans to transport individuals and consistently pass vehicle safety training.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must be able to collaborate with co-workers and clinical team.
