Position Summary:

Join our dynamic team and be a part of a company dedicated to making a positive impact through delicious and nutritious food offerings. As the Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in managing the cash cycle for accounts receivable, and coordinating cash application, invoicing and collections. We are seeking individuals who are passionate, driven, and ready to contribute to our collaborative team environment. This is a temporary, full-time position with potential of becoming a permanent hire dependent upon candidate performance.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintain records according to generally accepted accounting principles including the recording of general journal entries, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, collections and reconciliation of bank statements. 
  • Timely and accurate submission of sales invoices for the Ingredients divisions.
  • Assist with the collections process for Ingredients division including regular customer contact, tracking short-paid and past due invoices, and escalating issues to appropriate sales team and management employees.
  • Collect references for pending customer credit applications.
  • Complete credit applications with new vendors.
  • Complete new customer and vendor setup in NetSuite.
  • Assist with entry of expense bills for the Ingredients divisions.
  • Generate credit & debit memos due to quality & delivery issues.
  • Generate various internal reports as assigned.
  • General office duties, which includes but not limited to filing, sorting mail, etc. 
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with web-based ERP or bookkeeping software, NetSuite experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping practices and procedures.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is absolutely required, as well as a 
  • Track record of reliability, confidentiality, and conscientious work habits
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to interpret data and make cost effective decisions.
  • Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures.
