This position involves responsibility for maintaining high standards of professional nursing services in the County’s Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation with an emphasis on geriatric and rehabilitative care. An employee in this class has charge of the professional and non-professional personnel assigned to a shift in order to meet the total needs of the patient. This class is distinguished from that of Registered Professional Nurse (“RN”) by the added supervisory responsibilities or by independent responsibility for duties of advanced difficulty. Work is performed under general supervision of the Director of Nursing Services and Assistant Director of Nursing with latitude allowed for instructing, planning and making assignments to subordinates.
