Job Description:

The MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN- MACHINIST is primarily responsible for fabrication of repair parts and parts for safety modifications to plant equipment.  

 

JOB PURPOSE:

Lead shop maintenance projects and support the repair, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of all production and packaging equipment. 

 

 

Pay Rate:  $31.50 per hour   Monday-Friday Day shift

 

KeyAccountabilities:

•    Fabrication of repair parts for all production and packaging equipment
•    Assist with design and fabrication of machine safety modifications
•    Complete various projects and work orders as assigned. (e.g., welding, machining, mechanical, electrical) •    Prioritize shop maintenance work and assist other maintenance technicians.
•    Assist and/or lead in maintenance procedures through contractors / vendors
•    Specialist reference for problem solving
•    Facilitate training for maintenance technicians in welding and use of shop tools
•    Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance as necessary on all production and packaging equipment.
•    Support maintenance team by working on shift when necessary
•    Maintain skills related to troubleshooting and PM’s on all equipment
•    Maintain all shop tools and hardware in good working condition
•    Support the Maintenance Manager in defining the investment plan; suggesting interventions and the preliminary phases of R.C.A. 
•    Work and communicate well with others and effectively contribute to the working relationships within the plant.
•    Must be fluent with all basic tool room equipment
•    One must be a self-starter, possess the ability to take direction from multiple sources, while minimizing any potential down time of production.
•    Periodic reviews of perishable tooling for reorder and on hand quantity purposes.
•    Must have sense of urgency and ability to prioritize.

EXPERIENCE:

AA degree in maintenance or trade school certificate preferred but not required.  Requires a minimum of 3 years of manufacturing machining experience.  The use of CNC lathe and mill, basic proficiency in mig, tig and stick welding is required.  Prior use of Master Cam is desired.  Experience with PLC’s and VFD’s preferred but  is not required.  Basic knowledge of MSOffice is essential.  Knowledge of ISO standards and systems, including ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 is a plus.
