This role will be located in Williamson, NY.

WHAT WE NEED

The Lead Maintenance Technician will direct all reliability and maintenance activities to ensure that maximum operational potential is realized for plant operation at our facility. This includes directing, supporting, and training site maintenance mechanics.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provides leadership throughout night shift accomplishing maintenance team tasks.
  • Responsible for overseeing and training junior mechanics and provides support where needed.
  • Trains mechanics on new equipment according to the standard operating procedures.
  • Designs, fabricates, and installs new equipment and enhances existing equipment through process improvement and upgrades.
  • Facilitates finding root cause of problems or issues and completes necessary documentation.
  • Ensures the proper utilization of Prometheus for PMs, work orders, and part issuance with timely and accurate data entry.
  • Performs and directs preventative, predictive, and planned maintenance of mechanical and electromechanical equipment including but not limited to; cleaning, inspecting, diagnosing, replacement testing and process improvements.
  • Identifies and reports needs for major repairs to the appropriate level of management and enters data into Prometheus and assists with coordination of work.
  • Calibrates and maintains electronics and instrumentations for process control devices.
  • Completes all tasks while strictly adhering to all required industry guidelines including but not limited to: SQF, Food Safety, Plant Safety, and audits.
  • Ensure company metrics are met and supports team and company goals.
  • Must be able to work within the maintenance team to accurately communicate and document events by utilizing the standard shift log.
  • Ability to be flexible with scheduling including but not limited to working overtime, off shifts, weekends, holidays, and being on-call.
  • Follows proper Good Manufacturing Practices including wearing personal protective equipment
  • Adheres to all safety requirements.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • High school diploma, GED and/or related technical instruction required.
  • Two or more years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of advanced mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Ability to lead employees towards common goals through credibility with the team.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members required.
  • Ability to prioritize work and complete in a safe, timely manner.
  • Must have the ability to work independently or in groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to positively add to team dynamics.
  • Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual would have working knowledge of basic computer skills, basic search capabilities, Microsoft Word, email, Prometheus, RedZone and SAP

At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. We offer an additional $1.50/hour shift differential for working nights. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience.
