The Red Hook Student Success Coordinator within the Office of Enrollment Services plays a crucial role in helping students navigate through the challenges of higher education by guiding, mentoring, and advocating for student success in the Greg and Elizabeth O’Connell Red Hook Scholars Program and other scholar’s programs. Over time, the work of this position primarily focuses on connecting students from diverse backgrounds to essential campus resources, providing peer tutoring services, and delivering holistic advising to promote their academic and personal success. As a new entity, the Red Hook Student Success Coordinator will collaborate with key offices in the recruitment, coordinating summer pre-college programming, onboarding process, mentoring, and academic counseling of students within the scholar’s program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of one year of experience in student services/student affairs, student success and retention or admissions
  • Must demonstrate commitment and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents supporting campus and department missions
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, the public, the university community, and external stakeholders
  • Ability to analyze, mediate, and resolve complex problems
  • Initiative, creativity, and the ability to function well in an environment that promotes both teamwork and independence
  • Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration from multiple departments
  • Demonstration of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality
