Responsibilities
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Provides leadership, direction, and counsel to Human Resources Staff particularly in the areas of policy, procedures, and programs, complaint and grievance handling, and corrective discipline. Assists in managing employee relations issues and concerns and the investigation of employee relations cases. Devises methods for gathering information, analyzing and interpreting data. Prepares reports and makes recommendations which may have broad Human Resources implications.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in the investigation of employee relations cases where support has been requested. Encourages and assists in the use of positive means of resolving employee and supervisor concerns, problems, and formal complaints that promote a fair, equitable and inclusive workplace.
- Advises HR Business Partners and operating departments in the proper administration of corrective discipline, assuring consistent standards and precluding arbitrary or capricious discipline for all policies and procedures.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with University Human Resource Department and HR Business Partners to discuss, evaluate, develop, and implement desired programs, initiatives, and resolutions. Communicates employee relations requirements to appropriate divisions of the Human Resources Department to ensure consistent policy administration.
- Collects and analyzes data in Case Management Database to support developing enhancements in policy, training, coaching, development and employee engagement work.
- Supports the development of the design and delivery of employee relations training programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 3 years of professional supervisory or related Human Resources experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to constructively resolve conflicts and problem solve required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to diplomatically navigate complex and sensitive situations required.
- Strong competence utilizing MS Office suite, computerized databases, and other technological products that facilitate effective management preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with the ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse constituent population preferred.

Pay Range
Pay Range: $63,815 - $95,723 Annually
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
