Position Summary          

The digital coordinator (DC) creates and manages content on our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube), and for student-centered newsletters. Social media responsibilities include posting scheduled content, responding to private/direct messages, and monitoring the general “conversation” on all social media using Sprout Social.

 

The DC collaborates with the campus photographer and videographer on social campaigns. The DC will be the College Communications and Marketing point person for web analytics and applies SEO best practices to drive and enhance traffic. The position plans and executes paid digital advertising campaigns (primarily social media). The DC will cover the Student Life beat and write articles for the News Center and other channels highlighting the student experience at SUNY Geneseo.

Required Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, or other relevant fields

Professional experience in social media management and strategy for a company or institution.

Excellent grammar and writing skills.

Experience creating and managing paid social media marketing campaigns.

Experience with SEO and best practices for web content.

Deep and up-to-date understanding Google Analytics and ability to interpret data and create reports to improve content reach.

Experience leading and managing paid social media marketing campaigns and other types of digital advertising campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications

Significant experience writing for the web and ability to identify and write student-centered stories.

Experience with Sprout Social and Meta Business Suite.
