This position is hybrid and remote eligible for up to 40% of the time. The office location for this position is at ESL Corporate Headquarters in Rochester, NY. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Must remain flexible to meet current and future business needs. 

Pay: 

Starting Salary: $109,687.34    Pay Range: $97,039 - $122,335

 

Purpose of Position:

This position coordinates across partners to develop and implement collaborative activities to address equity in generational wealth through homeownership. Successful program implementation grows the generational wealth initiative and drives equity through partnerships, and innovation in products and services leading to increases in new and retained homeownership among targeted communities in greater Rochester.

Accountabilities:

Develop and manage implementation of activities to drive generational wealth through homeownership including:
  • Advance homebuyer grant opportunities through mortgage lenders throughout greater Rochester
  • Support affordability, maintenance, and value creation for existing homeowners
  • Support efforts to increase the supply of affordable homes for purchase
  • Guide development of products and services designed to meet people where they are, build trust, and support a experience that resonates with historically underserved segments 
  • Make grants to strengthen and expand programs that drive results for homebuyer goals
  • Manage progress of generational wealth activities toward initiative objectives and targets
  • Collaborate across Generational Wealth team to meet overall performance goals
 
Manage partner relationships to optimize effectiveness and scale of interventions 
  • Cultivate and manage partner relationships with mortgage lenders, realtors, homeowner support organizations and others in the homeownership ecosystem
  • Work with partners to design and establish effective processes to implement initiative activities
  • Work with partners to uncover questions and challenges and help resolve them
  • Ensure products offered, incentives, and risk mitigation are optimized to support partner utilization
 
Targeted external engagement to cultivate conditions that support generational wealth initiative outcomes 
  • Engage and support collaboration among partners working toward equity in greater Rochester homeownership market
  • Monitor relevant policies for opportunities to support homeowners, enhance policy environment as needed through education and/or advocacy
  • Identify and help to align funding sources to support equitable homeownership opportunities
  • Help raise awareness of the historical context of homeownership disparities and the value to the entire community of addressing them  
Additional activities as needed to drive generational wealth initiative objectives
 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Urban Planning Public Policy Economics or closely related discipline
  • 7 years experience in real estate, mortgage, homeowner programs, affordable housing development/policy, urban planning, financial services or related field
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional relationship building, networking and influencing skills
  • Innovative, out-of-the-box thinker
  • Ability to build structure and processes around new ideas. Strong overall organizational skills
  • Ability to work well individually and as a member of a successful team
  • PC proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree in Business, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Public Policy, MBA or MPA 
  • Familiarity with Greater Rochester neighborhoods and communities preferred
  • Role supporting homeownership journey, programs or policy: mortgage lending, homebuyer grants, government homeownership office, community development, realtor, homeownership counseling, residential housing development, etc.
  • Experience delivering tangible results through cross-sector collaboration, including experience with non profit, government, and private sectors.
  • Experience working with predominately African-American markets or similar experience demonstrating ability to demonstrate cultural competency in product or program delivery.
  • Understanding of how to navigate organizationally in order to manage and execute on product/service objectives
