Job Title: Part-time Food Service Associate

Reports to: Director, Food and Beverage

Primary Function: To support the daily operations of The Museum’s three onsite restaurants and catering functions.

 
Responsibilities
  • Daily kitchen/restaurant set-up and prep work for day’s food service;
  • Use of grill, fryer, and other small kitchen equipment;
  • Order taking (running a cash register includes the responsibility of handling cash and credit card transactions), expediting and running food;
  • Daily and deep-cleaning of both dining room and kitchen equipment and work spaces;
  • Restock merchandise in restaurants;
  • Help to keep a fun, friendly, and safe work environment for co-workers and customers.

  • Courteous, friendly, and professional interactions working with a wide range of staff, customers, and volunteers;
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service;
  • Practice safe food handling and serving protocols;
  • Adherence to all Museum policies and procedures.
 Qualifications
  • Experience in restaurant setting and some knowledge of cooking techniques;
  • Willing to be trained in tasks, procedures and motivated to learn and grow;
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some nights, weekends, holidays, and special events;
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. on your own
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time without sitting;
  • The ability to work both independently or in a very busy, fast paced environment;
  • Ability to drive or learn to drive a golf cart and have a current driver’s license;
  • L1 or L2 Serv-safe certification is a plus;
  • Must complete a background check.
 
Benefits:
  • Weekend availability is a must and preferable candidate would have the ability to work May through the end of October with some hours available in December.
  • Some holidays-including July 4th and October 9th.
  • This is a fun work environment with fantastic special events that bring many hungry people to the Museum.
  • There are limited night hours, so you can still have your evenings open--most shifts start around 10am until 4:30pm.
  • Family membership to the Museum.
  • NYS accrued sick hours (1 hour for every 30 hours worked).
  • Pay rate: $15.00/ hour
