Overview

Responsible for Manufacturing and Distribution operations. As the Senior Manufacturing Manager you are accountable for the overall performance and development of the various manufacturing department processes and activities including but not limited to: Quality, Manufacturing processes, Distribution, Materials, Toolroom, Maintenance and Facility Manufacturing Engineering.

Duties include but are not limited to: management direct and indirect employees, capacity management, quality/delivery, cost management, continuous improvement activities, and process development and maintenance. In addition project management of key operational initiatives, and participation in relevant Global BPN's.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience (or equivalent) in a supervisory capacity, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
    &bull : Must have excellent people, organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be able to handle stress and make quick decisions with incomplete information.
  • Extensive knowledge of various manufacturing processes
  • Must be able to identify, propose, implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives and teams. Experience with lean tools such as 5S, smed etc.
  • Must be capable of leading a diverse group of technical skill sets.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, develop and direct the day-to-day activities of resources (people, overtime, temporary labor and capital equipment) within manufacturing and the distribution functions to ensure the achievement of strong financial performance, EQDC, and related scorecard metrics.
  • Creates a culture of continuous improvement, and directs the application of manufacturing engineering initiatives and lean manufacturing improvements including: automation, cycle time improvement, set-up reduction, standard work and 5S to deliver high quality products at a responsible cost, with the shortest leadtime.
  • Oversees the development/training of associates assigned to their areas of responsibility (direct or indirect). Cross trains employees for maximum flexibility. Monitors performance with visual management systems to ensure compliance and identifies opportunities for improvement. Metrics include such things as number of safety incidents, day-by-the-hour production tracking, TO's per hour, MES performance monitoring, or training hours by employee/department.
  • Responsible for the leadership of associates assigned to their areas of responsibility. In conjunction with HRD coordinates salary administration (direct, indirect; hourly, salary). Ensures that applicable company policies and work instructions are fairly, consistently, and uniformly followed. Responsible for providing and encouraging an environment which promotes positive morale and employee development. Key metrics include, but are not limited to: timely completion of PDR’s and implementation of goals (performance & development) for all employees in your charge; compliance to applicable health and safety requirements; compliance to applicable company policies and work instructions.
  • Lead and/or participate in a relevant BPN (Business Process Network) aimed in driving process consistency at Southco locations around the world.

Compensation: $115,000 - $125,000
