Help Desk Administrator

Summary:

Under general supervision, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems encountered by users


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Extensive computer and peripheral troubleshooting skills, including hardware, software, and e-mail and make repairs and corrections where required
  • Experience with installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting operating systems and software
  • Capable of deploying desktop workstations and laptops
  • Capable of configuring and troubleshooting network printers
  • Experience with troubleshooting LAN and wireless network issues
  • Create, update, escalate and close tickets using corporate helpdesk system
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of IT assets
  • Possess analytical and logical reasoning skills
  • Knowledge of hardware and software tools for troubleshooting, as well as of resources for resolving known problems
  • Experienced with enterprise malware and antivirus software
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and oral) and strong Customer Service and Client Facing skills
  • Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data; implements solutions or notifies other areas as required
  • Knowledge of creating and deploying corporate images to workstations and laptops;
  • Capable of providing after overnight support on an on-call rotation basis
  • Capable of offering technical support on-site or via phone or email
  • Capable of providing input on upcoming and existing technologies and solutions, including helping users assess their needs
  • Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Required to work on call after hours on a rotating schedule

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a comparable combination of education and experience
  • 3 to 4 years Information Technology desktop support experience
  • Experience with DHCP, DNS, and Active Directory
  • Workings knowledge of operating systems including Windows 7, Windows 8, OSZ, and Server 2000/2003/2008/2012
  • Ability to strongly document work performed and new procedures

Working Conditions:

  • Regularly required to sit, use hands
  • Occasionally need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, with a potential of up to 25 pounds
  • Sedentary office environment
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing plant floor requiring the use of personal protective equipment (ear plugs, safety glasses, bump cap, skid-resistant leather shoes, etc.)
  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practice (hair net, no jewelry, no fake nails or eyelashes, no food/drink, gum, etc. in manufacturing Plant)
