PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as the first point of contact for the temple and provide administrative support to ensure complete, continuous, and efficient office operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide general administrative support to the Clergy, Executive Director, and Education Director
  • Act as the senior rabbi’s executive assistant
  • Act as a liaison for committee members and other temple volunteers
  • Receive, record, and communicate incoming donations
  • Coordinate meetings
  • Assist Program Coordinator as needed
  • Update congregant accounts as needed (Yahrzeits, contact information, etc.)
  • Manage inventory of prayer books for services, High Holy Days, and students
  • Assist with temple mass mailings as needed
  • Coordinate vendors and service providers for temple repairs and unexpected needs (exterminator, HVAC, etc.)
  • Provide back-up coverage for Bookkeeper

Education and experience 

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in business administration or related field
    • History of relevant work experience acceptable in lieu of degree
  • 2 years of experience in an administrative or office support role
  • Experience with accounting software and practices
