Job Function:
Student Success and Strategic Initiatives comprises the departments of Advisement & Transfer Services, Career Services, Schools/Pathways, and MCC Applied. The Clerk II is responsible for the performance of difficult and complex clerical tasks, requiring independent judgment and decision-making. This position will provide general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks. The Clerk II will need to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously and produce high-quality work with minimum supervision.
Primary Functions:
Serve as receptionist: greet visitors, check-in students, answer phones, schedule appointmentsGenerate requisitions for administrative supplies and other departmental purchasesGenerate and review check requests, travel requests, and travel reimbursement paperworkServe as web liaison; update websites when neededAssist staff with competitive health major change requests and compile student lists for competitive health programsCoordinate employer and transfer college visits to MCCSupport event planning and assist with the coordination of acquiring food, parking permits, reservations, etc.Schedule staff meetingsMaintain support staff monthly scheduleTrain new front desk staffAbility to learn and use a variety of software: Handshake, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Degree Works, Perceptive Content, Starfish, and BANNER (Self Service and Production)Secondary Functions:
Assist with updating and maintaining department manuals, Advisor Handbook, Entrance Requirement Book, etc.Collaborate with student workers to support the self-service areasPerform additional duties as assigned by leadership teamMCC Expectations:

Required Qualifications:
Must currently hold the title of Office Clerk II OR be reachable on the Civil Service Eligibility list titled Office Clerk II OR meet the below minimum requirements for a provisional appointment, if offered;
*Experience as a Teller, Cashier or Sales Clerk will not be considered appropriate experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications.NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. A list of acceptable companies who provide this service can be found on the Internet at http://www.cs.ny.gov/jobseeker/degrees.cfm. You must pay the required evaluation fee.

Job Type: Full - time
Hours: 8:45am to 4:45pm, Monday - Friday
Salary: $38,638.57 per year. Eligible for 6 month increment.
