Function of Position:
The Health & Wellness Ambassador is a part time, temporary grant position that reports directly to the Coordinator of the Counseling, Disability & Health Services office. The primary function of the Health & Wellness Ambassador is to assist with the education and offerings coordinated by the department for currently enrolled students. Various events and programs college-wide include topics that focus on but are not limited to Mental Health Awareness, health education/promotion, nutrition, mindfulness, sexual health, disability awareness and more.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with planning, organization, and facilitation of health and wellness programming, workshops, and events offered by the departmentEngage and educate the student population on health and wellness topicsCollaborate with various student/academic affairs departments (e.g., Campus Events, Athletics, Health and Physical Fitness, etc.) to schedule and organize event space Foster a culture and environment that is welcoming to diverse populations, respectful, and manifests a positive relationship between health and wellnessEffectively market and communicate health and wellness opportunities through the Student Tribune and Employee Tribune newsAssist with the organization of accurate facility and program documentationSupport with processing data input/collectionCreate space that cultivates community for studentsExhibit good discretion and judgement for all programsAssist with the implementation of departmental policies and proceduresMaintain the confidentiality and privacy of student records Promote, educate and engage students with the available platforms offered by the department (e.g. Therapy Assistance Online, TimelyCare, Vector Solutions, etc.)Plan, organize, monitor, and sustain appropriate support for students in a timely mannerServe as an advocate/resource/referral agent for students seeking health and wellness support services that are available to students both internal and external to the CollegePerform other duties and responsibilities that contribute to the service offerings of the department and mission of the College assigned by Coordinator of the department.MCC Expectations:

Preferred Qualifications:
Earned bachelor's degree or higher in mental health, health/exercise science, nutrition, education, or closely related field from a regionally-accredited higher education institutionBilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently
Additional Information:
Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $20 to $25 per hour and is based on these mentioned factors.
Schedule: 20 hours/week
End Date: August 31st, 2025
