Job Function:
This position assists Student Rights and Responsibilities, specifically the Director, by interfacing with the college community through email, telephone, and in-person to provide the best support and customer service possible. Student Rights and Responsibilities manages multiple confidential, time-sensitive, compliance-related activities and other delicate matters. The secretary is critical in ensuring student, staff, and faculty needs are met.
Primary Functions:
Provide administrative support for the Director of Student Rights and ResponsibilitiesManage Student Rights and Responsibilities Outlook mailboxMaintain Outlook calendars, including acting as a delegate for the DirectorProcess confidential and sensitive student disciplinary records, including dean requests and other background check informationPlace and remove student holds in BannerSchedule student and judicial board appointments and hearingsOrganize and schedule required training with required attendeesCoordinate technology for meetings and other eventsProvide Level 5 administrative support for the student conduct database, including configuration, creating new letters, training staff, and creating cases (one of two Level 5 users on campus)Ensure accurate and completed student conduct filesPerform compliance and accuracy checks of the Student Rights and Responsibilities, Student Resources, and Student Consumer Information websiteManage email and correspondence/phone calls independentlyManage office operations, including ordering and maintaining office supplies and equipmentAssist with the budget process, including budget creation, requisitions, etc.Coordinate travel arrangements and complete travel-related expense reportsServe as a resource for students, referring them to appropriate offices on campusProvide excellent customer serviceProvide timely and accurate information to faculty, staff, students, and applicantsHire, train, and supervise student workers as neededHandle incoming mailOther duties as assignedCSEA Functions:
Proofread written materials for sense and consistency, as well as for spelling, grammar, and punctuationMaintain and establish confidential files and general office filesTransmit administrative directives and policies throughout the unitCheck, code, and process requisitions, claim vouchers, and billsSecondary Functions:

Must currently hold the civil service title of Secretary II or be on the current eligible list for this title, OR meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for a provisional appointment, if offered:

Job Type: Full-time
Hours: 8:45 am to 4:45 pm, Monday through Friday
Salary: $40,991.65 per year. Eligible for an increment increase after 6 months of service.
Pay Transparency Disclaimer: The posted salary range represents the full salary scale for this position, which includes all pay steps within the range. The starting salary for all new hires is typically at the entry-level figure, as determined by the step placement of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Progression through the range occurs over time based on established criteria such as length of service and performance. This range is provided to give applicants an understanding of the potential earnings over the course of a career in this role.
