Function of Position:

The Program Coordinator II is responsible for the planning, development, management, and delivery of credit and non-credit professional development programing for the Center for Teaching Excellence of Monroe Community College, which will serve pre-service and currently practicing education professionals. The Program Coordinator also serves as the approver of Continuing Teacher and Leader Education (CTLE) credit for the Center. This position reports to the Chair of the Education and Human Services Department.

Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop a menu of professional development programming.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate workshop trainers.
  • Work across departments to develop a registration and payment system.
  • Work with Marketing and Community Relations to develop and support department marketing efforts, including department website.
  • Network with local schools, school districts, and community partners to create needed programming.
  • Work to establish a certification office within the Center.
  • Assist with the creation of teacher certification micro-credentials.
  • Seek out grant and external funding opportunities to support programming.
  • Lead the Center for Teaching Excellence Advisory Committee.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Requirements:

    Required Qualifications:

  • Earned master's degree in education, human services (or similar) from a regionally accredited higher education institution.
  • Minimum 5 years full-time experience in PK-12 school district.
  • Project or program management experience.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Commitment to the value of customer service
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Strong writing and organization skills.
  • Commitment to continued professional growth.
  • Evidence of proficiency with technology.
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience designing/offering professional development workshops for educators.
  • Expertise with trauma-informed practices.
  • College teaching experience.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.

  • Additional Information:

    Salary: Salary is determined based on experience, internal equity and college budget. This position has a range of $52,000 to $55,000 and is based on these mentioned factors.
